The town of Marrakech is divided into two distinct parts: the Medina, or the historical city, and the new city with two principal districts that are called: Gueliz and Hivernage. Gueliz is thus the European modern district of the town of Marrakech.

The Saadian Tombs: Situated in the northwest corner of the Kasbah and are accessed by a very narrow passageway with overhanging buttresses and archways. This complex of mausoleums dates back to the late 1500s.
Place Djemaa el Fna: known as Square of the Dead is a traditional meeting place for peasants and merchants from the Sous region, the High Atlas and the South.
It’s a main square and market place of Marrakesh, used equally by locals and tourists.
